Along with writing partner Neal Purvis, Robert Wade has enjoyed enormous success scripting several films in the James Bond franchise. Wade is a graduate of England's Kent University, and along with Purvis spent his early career in London writing spec scripts. They had an uncredited job adapting the Tony Parsons novel "Limelight Blues" and also came up with concepts for pop music videos to make extra money. Their big break came with the 1991 crime drama "Let Him Have It," based on a notorious 1950s policeman shooting. Their next credit was another historical crime film, 1999's "Plunkett & Macleane." Acclaim for the movie caught the attention of the producers of the James Bond film "The World Is Not Enough," and soon Wade and his partner were scriptwriting stars. They went on to write "Die Another Day" and the Rowan Atkinson spy spoof, "Johnny English." The pair also wrote the Brian Jones biopic "Stoned," on which Wade served as a co-producer, before the duo penned two more Bond films--the award-winning remake "Casino Royale" and its sequel, "Quantum of Solace," which they co-wrote with Paul Haggis.
